Administrator for the Town of Central since December 2005. Previously worked at Charleston County Government for years holding various management positions. 1987 graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Accounting. 1995 Graduate of Valdosta State University with a Masters in Public Administration. Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Member of the Clemson Area Rotary Club and Central area Business Council. Deacon at First Baptist Church of Central. Married for 15 years with one daughter. Enjoy golfing, water/snow skiing and coaching my daughter in softball. |
General Manager of Powdersville Water District since March, 2004. Prior experience includes 20 years as Director of Operations and Commercial Manager at Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority in Beaufort, SC. Other employment opportunities included various positions with the SC Water Resources Commission, NOAA and municipal government. Over 30 years experience in the water and sewer industry. Attended Clemson University and Coastal Carolina University, received BS Degree in Marine Science & Engineering in 1980 as a James F. Byrnes Scholar. 2006 Leadership of Anderson graduate, 2010 selection to Leadership SC, Anderson Area Chamber Board, ARJWS Board, Imagine Anderson Board, First Citizens Bank Advisory Board, chairman of the Anderson Chamber Water Resources Committee, AWWA Distribution Standards Committee, SC Water Utility Council Board and past elder of the Presbyterian Church. Married with three sons and lives in Powdersville. Interests include sports, hiking, kayaking and photography. |
After graduating from Clemson College (now University) in 1962, I was hired as an Industrial Engineer for Kendal Corp in Seneca, SC. One year later, I requested a transfer from the US Marine Reserves to the US Air Force and entered training as an Electronic Warfare Officer. I was an instructor at Mather AFB in Calif. until my resignation from the airforce in 1969. I worked for IBM in Asheville, NC for 2 years and joined Dr. TC Smith Co in 1972 (wholesale drug company in Asheville, NC). I bought into the company as a partner and we sold the company to Bergen Brunswick Corp in 1989. In 1990 my wife, Helen, my son Sean, and I established Turner & Turner Construction, and with my brother-in-law developed King's Grant subdivision in Anderson, SC. We have been in business in the Anderson/Greenville area for the last 19 years. Helen King and I were married at Mather AFB iin 1964. We have 3 sons (Franklin III, Sean, and Brett) and 8 grandchildren (six grandsons and 2 granddaughters). We are members of First Presbyterian Church where Helen serves as an Elder. |
